Annual Beautification Gala – A Splendiferous Event!

gala - 1The Laguna Beach Beautification Council’s annual Gala, held Saturday, October 17 at the magnificent Laguna Beach home of Don Clurman was an Italian fantasy.

About 100 guests, many dressed in Italian Renaissance style costumes or gorgeous gowns, arrived at the Amalfi Coast style home, with its authentic architecture, gardens, terraces, balconies adorned with geraniums and roses, furnishings and art.

Two opera singers enthralled the guests, from the outdoor balconies, singing selections from operas, sung in Italian, Portuguese and French. A strolling minstrel engaged the guests and even had them join in singing opera selections. The singers were Cyndra Neal, Charlene Mignault and Amanda Stonach. Three world-class pianists, Kaii Lee, Kait Denton and Rebecca Lyles, played selections from Italian operas and popular music.

The silent auction, featuring original Laguna Beach art, blown glass, silk scarves, cashmeres, elegant ladies’ bags and gift certificates, provided the guests with items to remind them of this most enchanted evening.
